Is there anything more delightful than a creamy avocado to top off a crunchy tortilla chip, taco, or even salad? Growing up in California, I consumed avocados more than apples. I still delight in waiting for their ripe green skin to darken then give way to a tender center. In addition to just tasting damn good, avocados are also full of health benefits, including dietary fiber, healthy fats, and Vitamin A, B, C, E, & K. Traditional guacamole is a great party starter, but there are a number of ways to take the classic dip up a notch. Here are 3:

  • 2 tsp. of hot sauce
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Mix and season to taste.  Serve with tortilla chips or add to your favorite salad to make it a true BLT!
