Cancer [June 21st to July 21st]
#MeTime: One of the oldest symbols for Cancers was not the crab, but the scarab from Egypt, also known as Kemet. The scarab, or dung beetle, was a symbol of renewal and transformation, because the beetle would lay its eggs in a ball it had rolled up from doo-doo. The beetle larvae would live off the dung ball until they emerged from the crap—as fully grown beetles. With Mercury, the planet of the mind, and Uranus, the planet of dynamic change, in lockstep with each other now, you’re deep in the crap pressing to get new. Last week, I said the first level of getting new was getting in a new mood. Now it’s about slipping into a new mental direction—to become more direct, regardless of your mood.

#Heartstrings: With Mercury about to go retrograde in about a week, you might feel a bit wound up and looking for the right release. Please note “right” in the last sentence. Your sign is working with the lesson of living with emotion and one’s roots. Sometimes you might misinterpret this as the lesson of living with drama and one’s rotten mood, especially if some hapless loved one gives you ample opportunity by bringing his or her own drama. There will be some head-back flippage, if you get caught up in their drama. Resist, dear Cancer. Some examples of right release might be chatting through the BS with a friend, a nice brisk walk, or a long entry in your journal.
#MoneyMoves: As a child of the luminous and photogenic Moon, image is more important to you than you’d like to admit. In fact, it’s fair to rank your image and reputation high up there with money or any other particular thing you possess. Now is a time to make sure your reputation and image is shining the way you’d like it to. Perhaps you’ve allowed “your look” to be tarnished over the last few years because you’ve been focused on material security only. If you’ve been less than perfect with your word, now is a time to start correcting that. If your physical appearance no longer feels like you, it’s a perfect time to start thinking about how to change it.
