Aries (March 21st to April 19th)

Although you may not fully shake off your wintry robe of repose now, you are definitely feeling more spring in your step and with your spirit. The boost may come from some kind of recognition, accomplishment or opportunity. To add boom to a renewing boon, we have two refreshing events happening this weekend. Mercury ends his apparent backwards spin (or otherwise known as a retrograde) on Friday. Although all communication or travel foul-ups may not end that day, you feel hopeful and more comfortable with winging it. The very next day, the moon starts a new cycle, becoming a frontrunner for newer things to come your way! Overall, you feel fortunate and good. There’s even a better reason to do something with that feeling like be on the look out for your spring wardrobe or start patching up your warm weather stuff, like your skates or bike.

Taurus (April 20th to May 21st)

If you’ve been able to open up just little over the last week to share what’s been brewing in you, you’ll even feel better this week. Perhaps you don’t know how much pressure you put on yourself by keeping so much in. Yes, you find ways to blow off steam by steeping in the things that give you pleasure or provide comfort. But keeping control can be a heck of a burden to carry. You’ll see tangible benefits for sharing those burdens with others, especially a close friend or colleague.  “Your network is your net worth,” some like to say. It’s good to give as much emotional attention and care to people as you put into your enjoyment of the finer things in life.  As we approach a new cycle of the moon on Saturday, renew a long-term commitment to keep up with other close friends and associates.

Gemini  (May 21st to June 20th)

Last week, I said that listing what you want now could stir up some darker emotions. It’s not realistic to think that you processed all of that gunk in a week, despite how quick you are. However, everything doesn’t have to be worked out emotionally to move forward now. You just needed to know your blind spots so you’re not blind-sided by going for what you want. So, yes, you can let some of your plans out of the bag, but only a peep and only toward the weekend. This may be a work weekend, even if you don’t step in an office. You’ve detailed your desires, but use this weekend to work out ways of fulfilling them. Keep patient.  The answers for how things will play out may take after Mercury’s game of catch up after its retrograde ends on Friday, the day before a new cycle of the moon too.

Cancer  (June 21st to July 21st)

I think there’s a lot about this week that will make you feel good, like you knew that you would, to rephrase the Godfather James Brown. Fortune-making Jupiter strikes up a loud joyful noise with spontaneous Uranus to spell out good news for you on the job or with your career. This planetary line-up could manifest as an opportunity that you’ve been waiting for and exceeds expectations. One thing’s clear though: your preparation pays off now once the right opportunity lands at your door. There’s nothing “blind” about this luck. You may have intuited this moment recently, and it’s okay to feel good about getting this right. You could even honor this moment with a little celebrating. The biggest hitch this week happens on the home front, like appliances breaking down or family acting up.

Leo  (July 22nd to August 21st)

I’m sure it’s no surprise to know that your sign is often associated with royalty. Kings and queens used to feel they ruled more by “divine right” and privilege than the people’s goodwill. If in the quiet of your own mind you have feelings of ruling by “divine right,” then a lot is going to feel devilishly wrong this week.  I’m not here to tell you that you’re not awesome or that you’re not a royal class act. I am saying that you have to recognize where your real power comes from: your connections and goodwill from others, especially those who look up to you. That’s what’s truly divine about you: your air of sophistication tempered with your ability to keep the common touch. It might be tough now, but take the risk of humbling yourself before someone not at your level rather than being high-handed.

Virgo (August 22nd to September 21st)

“The moment I jumped off of it was the moment I touched down,” Alanis Morissette crooned in her 1998 hit, “Thank U.” Though she doesn’t make clear what the “it” is that she jumped off of, in your case, it is something that you’ve been wanting and now is within your grasp. One clear signal that this is true is Mercury’s course correction from retrograding (appearing to go backwards from the Earth’s perspective). On the morning of the very last day of this month, Mercury’s officially going forward. That’s great news for you, considering he’s your sign’s patron planet. Like him, you and key things you care about can move forward now. Let go of the fear of losing it (whatever “it” is); embrace the possibility of positive outcomes; and don’t forget to say, “Thank you.”

Libra (September 22nd to October 21st)

It looks like your empathy and mercy you employed last week will pay off now. Your sign may often signify the idea of justice, but you also can manifest very well the quality of mercy, especially now. You would think you’d have that down pat, but you may need to soften up a little bit these days. Maybe it’s all that fighting energy of Mars traveling through your sign now and even appearing to go backwards (or retrograding) starting on Saturday.  It’s good to be right and on the side of right, but it’s wiser to have mercy for those who do wrong, including yourself.

Scorpio (October 22nd to November 21st)

Somehow it may be hard for you to bridge the gap between what you know and what you do, as when you intuit you should take an umbrella with you but you talk yourself out of carrying it. Now is a good time to analyze how you talk yourself out of things, especially out of doing the good things that would improve your life. I suspect this goes much deeper than self-doubt, especially when some measure of your confidence is on the rise these days. One way this usually happens is when you mistake hope as a strategy rather than taking stock of the facts. Perhaps you see clear skies and hope it won’t rain, rather than paying attention to both your intuition AND the actual weather report. Those are the kinds of thoughts and actions to focus on leaving behind this week.

Sagittarius (November 22nd to December 21st)

It seems like you’re waiting for something. It’s not bad to wait, but perhaps you can’t decide if you’re waiting, procrastinating or giving up. Maybe this moment is similar to what happens when you first stand up after sitting down for a long time: your mind is more agile than perhaps every other part of your body.  Your mind hasn’t really stopped moving, but you’ve been in the “freeze” of winter, regardless of the actual temperatures where you are.  The freeze has slowed you down, but not stopped you. You’re getting your body back in gear, but be gentle with yourself. When we start the new moon cycle on Saturday, kick off something new at its simplest level, like revising the “objective” of your résumé if you’re going to job hunt soon.

Capricorn (December 22nd to January 20th)

Perhaps every year I should make it a point during Pisces season, a sign associated with fish and the ocean, to remind you that your sign is not only symbolized by a goat, but specifically a sea-goat. Of course, sea-goats don’t exist, but it does prompt us to appreciate something about your sign that’s not said enough: you are souls meant to canvass the depth of emotional seas to the peak of worldly mountains of success. When you explore the depth of your emotional seas and you transform that into art or knowledge, you end up taking folks higher. Perhaps this explains why Capricorn is supposedly the sign that’s won the most Academy Awards. So if things get choppy and emotional this week, don’t swim away from the waves of feeling. You’ll only end up in deeper water.

Aquarius (January 21st to February 18th)

“Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now.” Every now and again, Aquarius, it’s good to recite this W.H. Murray quote (often wrongly attributed to the German poet Goethe). This is one of those times to begin your magic. I think it’s doubly promising for new moneymaking ventures since we both have a new moon on Saturday and Mercury moves forward again on Friday, after three weeks of appearing to go backwards, from the earth’s perspective. Don’t be in a rush for results, though. We’ll talk about why you may have less than instantaneous results next week.

Pisces (February 19th to March 20th)

This week’s new moon paves the way for a new beginning for you, although we’re already 2 months deep into 2014.  This fresh start is confirmed by Mercury, as it also moves forward again after three weeks of appearing to go backwards, from the earth’s perspective. As we said last week, you’re excavating—retrieving and dusting off what’s been stored away or lost for a while.  Among the things that may surface is something precious to which you definitely should give more attention, like a spark of creativity, a book to read, or a practice that you let fall by the wayside. The depths of your inner self are vast, dear Pisces. From time to time, there are parts of yourself that you must let go and forget. This is one of those times to remember and reignite your many-storied self.
