17 Students at Texas Christian University Arrested in Drug Bust

"There are days people want to be a head football coach, but today is not one of those day," said Texas Christian University (TCU) coach Gary Patterson in a prepared response to the news that four members of his football team were caught up in an embarrassing drug sting. The six month long investigation also brought down 13 others who were caught making hand-to-hand sales of marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy, and prescription drugs to undercover officers.

What makes this case even more interesting is how the arrest warrants paint a startling picture of the Horned Frogs football team. A handful of its players actually arranged sales after class and/or around practice, and even failed a surprise drug test just two weeks ago.

Considering that TCU is a relatively small university (9,500 students), do the student-athletes deserve most of the scrutiny?
