16-year-old Anthony Weber was shot dead by a sheriff’s deputy roughly a week ago, and as a result, protesters gathered and demanded answers connected to the shooting.

KTLA reports that a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy fired the fatal shot. Weber was wounded on Sunday and officials allege that he was armed at the time. But the gun they say was in his possession hasn’t been found.

When the incident took place, people gathered at the scene in Westmont. Los Angeles County Sherriff’s Department officials said that one of the estimated 30 to 40 bystanders possibly took the gun from the scene.

And neighbors, concerned citizens and activists have spoken out, mostly against the Sheriff’s Department’s insistence that Weber was armed when he was shot.

Story Developing.
