Members of Chicago’s Whitney Young community are remembering an 18-year-old autistic student who was found stabbed to death on Friday.

Brandon Porter-Young was discovered with injuries in his East Garfield apartment on the city’s West Side about 10 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Since early December, Porter-Young had been reportedly staying with his mother at the Jr Plaza Hotel II located at 3001 W. Jackson Blvd, according to hotel employee, Annie Harris.

Principal Joyce Dorsey Kenner spoke with the Chicago Sun-Times about the teen’s death. She said he “always had a smile on his face.”

So far, no one is in custody.
