Sunday, Vice President Joe Biden was the guest on “Meet the Press,” and got frank about his stance on gay marriage. America's second-in-charge told host David Gregory, “I am absolutely comfortable with the fact that men marrying men, women marrying women, and heterosexual men and women marrying another are entitled to the same exact rights, all the civil rights, all the civil liberties,” he said. Adding, ”Quite frankly, I don’t see much of a distinction beyond that.”

Now, perhaps there is serious miscommunication in the White House, because his office was quick to respond to his liberal views. The Vice President’s press team quickly called NBC to stress that Biden was merely giving his own, personal feelings on the matter and that he was not speaking for the administration. But, on the other hand, more states have approved gay marriage under the current administration than ever before. As media outlets buzzed about where his strong convictions came from, Biden’s comments may allude to the all-inclusive direction Obama will take for his re-election campaign.
