The Charleston, South Carolina branch of the Ku Klux Klan has been on the hunt for new members and recently shepherded a drive to replenish the ranks. In a surprising twist of irony, an invite letter to join the KKK was sent to an unidentified young Black girl who lives in the West Ashley Pierpoint part of the city.

The young girl, who was understandably disturbed upon receiving the letter to join the Whites-only organization, turned it over to the local authorities. Many of the town's residents have been bringing in the KKK membership drive letters into the sheriff's office to let them know about the racist organization's recruiting methods. Sadly, with the issues of race driving the fears of many individuals and groups, it doesn't seem like there will be an end in sight to such absurdity.
