In honor of Black History Month, Comcast launched a new short film that places the spotlight on some of the contributors behind America’s favorite shows, movies and superhero stories.

The 12-minute short film, Groundbreakers: Heroes Behind The Mask, includes interviews with costume illustrator Phillip Boutte, Jr., Marvel’s Luke Cage showrunner Cheo Hodari, comic book illustrator Alitha E. Martinez and film director and producer Reginald Hudlin.

The short film will be available throughout the month of February and is accessible online via Xfinity on Demand,the Xfinity Stream app or by speaking “Black Film & TV” into the Xfinity X1 Voice Remote.

In addition to Groundbreakers: Heroes Behind The Mask, the cable provider will offer several new films in celebration of historical heroes this month including the History Channel’s Voices of the Civil Rights Movement, BET’s Madiba, TVOne’s Behind the Movement, the Smithsonian Channel’s Malcolm X: The Lost Tapes and The Africa Channels’ Fighting for King and Empire along with special premiere clips for Black Panther.
