Although they may not be as well-known as their post-integration counterparts, men like Eddie Miles and Jackie Ridgle had just as much (if not more) of an impact on Arkansas high school basketball. Yet, because they attended segregated, all-black schools in the 40's, you won't find their names in any of the state's record books. 

Arkansas isn't the only state with this dubious distinction. Oklahoma also neglects to honor many of their Jim Crow-era black stars, a fact which is either (at best) a gross oversight or (at worst) racist. 

Is this news surprising? Also, if the state's sports record books are this incomplete, is it likely that their other historical records (i.e.: academic, political, criminal, etc) are incomplete as well?
