While California’s students body is increasing in diversity when it comes to education, researchers can’t say the same for educators.

In fact, “Left Out: How Exclusion in California’s Colleges and Universities Hurts Our Values, Our Students, and Our Economy” shows that 69 percent of students in the state are diverse. That’s compared to more than 60 percent of the instructors, faculty and leadership who work in the state’s public colleges and universities being white.

The report was released earlier this week by The Campaign for College Opportunity. The nonprofit organization is dedicating to amplifying the number of state residents who attend and graduate from college.
