While many were watching the Toure and Piers Morgan media spectacle, another controversy once again featured GOP candidate Rick Santorum. While addressing a crowd in Janesvile, Wisconsin, Santorum stuttered through a sentence that may have shown him to completely be a gay-hating, porn-hating, contraception-hating douche…and a racist as well! Don’t believe us? Take a look at an excerpt of Santorum’s speech that sounds like the following:
“We know, we know the candidate Barack Obama, what he was like. The anti-war government nig, ah, of the ah, the America was a source for division around the world…”
That little “nig” has sparked a round of debates all inciting that the unfinished word was meant to describe Obama as a “nigger.” Keep in mind that Santorum is the same guy who said that he would tell Black people to get off of food stamps, opposes the removal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” and tends to perform well in racist parts of the country. Perhaps Santorum was merely trying to call the first Black President of the United States “niggard,” which means stingy or ungenerous. Then he quickly realized the word didn’t really fit with the sentence and stopped. Either way, this “slip of the tongue” is just another addition to the long list of reasons why Rick Santorum can never, ever be president.
