A survivor of the massacre which took the lives of 17 Florida high school students was forced to ask the First Lady if the U.S. President could stop cyber-bullying her.

Seventeen-year-old Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School senior David Hogg has become one of the school’s leading young voices against gun control following the Feb. 14 massacre by former Stoneman student Nikolas Cruz. The 19-year-old has been charged with 17 counts of pre-meditated murder after killing his former peers with an AR-15.

After fellow shooting survivors began delivering poignant messages on gun control, some conservatives accused Hogg of being a paid crisis actor. Among the accusers was the 45th president’s son, Donald Trump, Jr. On Friday, Hogg’s sister Lauren came to his defense in a tweet directed at Melania Trump who’s used her platform as FLOTUS to advocate against cyber-bullying:

“Hey @FLOTUS you say that your mission as First Lady is to stop cyber bullying. Well then, don’t you think it would have been smart to have a convo with your step-son @DonaldJTrumpJr before he liked a post about a false conspiracy theory which in turn put a target on my back & created a safe space for people all over the world to call me and my family horrific things that constantly re-victimizes us and our community. I’m 14 I should never have had to deal with any of this and even though I thought it couldn’t get worse it has because of your family.”

Lauren lost four friends during last Tuesday’s shooting.

Two days after the tragic incident, Hogg, like her brother, held government officials accountable for their inaction surrounding stricter gun control laws.

On Tuesday, Florida’s House of Representatives chose not to re-evaluate a bill which would ban assault weapons before declaring porn a public health risk.
