A student from Johnson County Community College in Overland, Kansas, had a few items of business to take care of before giving birth Tuesday morning.
Final exam season was upon Nayzia Thomas when she went into labor and the sophomore psychology student had work to tend to—so she did. Thomas’ mother captured her daughter’s diligence in a photo the student later posted to Twitter. It quickly went viral.

“[This pic] is the perfect explanation of my life,” Thomas wrote as the caption. “Yes I’m about to have a baby, but final SZN [sic] ain’t over yet.”
Two hours before giving birth to a baby boy, Thomas completed her final project.
But get this—it wasn’t even due the next day.
“[The assignment] wasn’t due until the end of the week—finals week is Dec. 11 to tomorrow—but my goal was to try to have everything done before,” Thomas told Yahoo Lifestyle. “[I thought] ‘before all this gets crazy let me hurry up and finish this final.’”
