A Louisiana man is being charged with attempted first degree murder after attempting to run over his girlfriend with his car early Sunday morning.

WAFB-TV 62-year-old Benjamin Blount of East Baton Rouge, LA tried running over his girlfriend and her three children because he was upset she withheld sex from him.

After telling Blount she wasn’t in the mood for intercourse, he allegedly proceeded to choke her. When she escaped the apartment unit and waited in the parking lot of a restaurant with her three kids to hail a ride, she said he got in his Chevrolet Silverado and tried to run them over…twice.

The man claims the entire ordeal was an attempt to prevent his girlfriend from taking the kids outside into the cold.

He’s being charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, second-degree kidnapping, battery and child endangerment.

Almost exactly two years ago, 29-year-old mother of three Janese Talton Jackson was killed by a man who she turned down at a bar.

But toxic-turned-deadly masculinity is nothing new.

May 11, 2018 will mark the 15th anniversary of the death of Sakia Gunn who was killed at 15 years old. The teenager was beaten and stabbed to death after rejecting the advances of 28-year-old Richard McCullough and telling him she was interested in women.
