Florida GOP Sen. Marco Rubio felt the heat Wednesday night during an intense CNN townhall about gun control.

Rubio was confronted by parents, students and teenage survivors of the Parkland, Florida shooting that left 17 people dead last week.

He was questioned about gun control and his support for the National Rifle Association.

Cameron Kasky, a junior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where the shooting took place, asked Rubio if he will accept any future NRA funding, which led to a standing ovation from the thousands in attendance.

“People buy into my agenda,” said Rubio. “The influence from these groups comes not from money … it comes from the millions of Americans that support the NRA.”

Rubio, met with jeers from the crowd, would not say he if he would turn down money from the NRA.

According to reports, Rubio accepted $9,900 from the NRA during his Senate reelection bid in 2016.

“In the name of 17 people, you cannot ask the NRA to keep their money out of your campaign?” Kasky asked.

Rubio was joined by fellow Florida Sen. Bill Nelson and U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch, a Democrat from Florida.

President Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Rick Scott both turned down invitations to attend the town hall, according to CNN.
