McDonald’s is taking the time to celebrate International Women’s Day with an unexpected gesture, as the fast-food chain will be turning many of their signature golden arches upside down into W’s for the day.
Company spokesperson Lauren Altmin tells CNBC that the “W” is in “celebration of women everywhere.”
“We have a long history of supporting women in the workplace, giving them the opportunity to grow and succeed,” says Altmin. “In the U.S. we take pride in our diversity and we are proud to share that today, six out of 10 restaurant managers are women.”
Today, we flip our Golden Arches to celebrate the women who have chosen McDonald’s to be a part of their story, like the Williams family. In the U.S. we’re proud to share that 6 out of 10 restaurant managers are women. https://t.co/6z88OhjXpO pic.twitter.com/hXfOi3wWQf
