“Wherever women are diminished, the entire world is diminished with them. However, wherever women are empowered, towns and villages, schools and economies, are empowered and together, we are all made strong with them.”

This isn’t a statement you would expect from Melania Trump. Now if this were Michelle Obama, it would make sense. But this is the same woman who’s willingly married to Donald Trump, a man who has a very problematic history with women.

In a rare public speech Wednesday, Mrs. Trump addressed an audience at the State Department’s International Women of Courage Awards in Washington, D.C. According to The Hill, Trump called for the international community to stand up against violence against women and children and declared the need for promoting women’s empowerment.

“We must continue to work towards gender empowerment and respect for all people from all backgrounds and ethnicities, remembering that we are all members of one race, the human race.”

That’s interesting. During a time when her husband aka 45 is coming for Obamacare and other policies that help “the human race,” instituting travel bans, commenting on the NFL, making budget cuts and even beefing with Snoop, it seems like Mrs. Trump’s agenda doesn’t align with that of POTUS.

While the speech was acceptable, as old Black people used to say, “Something in the milk ain’t clean.”
