Morgan Freeman may not believe that President Obama is America's first Black president, but that hasn't stopped him from putting his money behind the POTUS. The Academy Award winner has donated $1 million to pro-Obama super PAC Priorities USA last month. As a result, the group's achieved its best fundraising amount yet, racking up $6 million in donations. Priorities USA has recently centered on attacking presidential candidate Mitt Romney's record at Bain Capital. In the last quarter, the pro-Obama group raised a total of $11.7 million.

Freeman released the following statement, confirming his donation as well as his support for the president:

"President Obama has done a remarkable job in terrible circumstances. He has ended combat operations in Iraq, put in place sensible reforms of Wall Street, saved the auto industry and protected the healthcare of every American with a preexisting condition. He has recognized the full equality of all our brothers and sisters and placed impressive, accomplished women on the Supreme Court. In return for this he is being targeted by hundreds of millions of dollars in special-interest money. I for one am proud to lend my voice – and support – to those who defend him."
