While managing to juggle a potential scandal with the U.S. Secret Service, President Obama sat down with Univision’s Enrique Acevedo on Friday to talk about immigration. “I can promise that I will try to do it in the first year of my second term,” Obama affirmed. The president made clear the challenges he faces in trying to get the discussion passed from the House to the Senate. “I’ve got a majority of Democrats who are prepared to vote for it, and I’ve got no Republicans who are prepared to vote for it.” GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney has gone on record saying that the immigration laws, regarded as controversial by many, are a model for the country and that he would enforce those practices if voted in as President of the United States.
