According to a New York Times report, President Obama told House Democrats tonight that Republicans are demanding everything up to his presidency in order to end the government shutdown and raise the debt ceiling. “The only thing not on their list is my own resignation,” Obama told Democrats, a member of Congress who attended the meeting told the Times.
The paper also reported that Obama told the group that “if he gives in now, Republican demands would be endless.”
