A look at the political week that was…

Mitt Romney has another terrible week with foreign policy gaffes and a near international incident after he seemed to criticize London’s handling of the Olympic Games on his foreign tour.

Even before his trip the Romney camp fought back allegations of racism after what has now been termed, “Anglo-Saxon Gate” where an anonymous Romney adviser claimed President Obama doesn’t understand the “anglo-saxon heritage” that apparently the United States and Great Britain have in common.

-Remember when Mitt Romney went to speak at the NAACP convention and got booed?  That has been cleverly edited out of his campaign’s footage of the speech to give the false impression that he was well received.

Senate Democrats have done the unthinkable: they passed tax cuts for the middle class and have forced Republicans into the politically untenable position of having to vote against these cuts in order to save the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy.

-South Carolina’s Republican Governor Nikki Haley cut funding to programs helping victims of sexual assault and domestic violence, calling them a “distraction.”  These remarks sparked outrage nationwide but this week her decision was thankfully overturned.
