The man who briefly stopped a gunman from killing and injuring more people in a shooting at a Waffle House near Nashville last week has raised money for the families of the victims, CNN reports.

James Shaw Jr., 29, launched a GoFundMe campaign on Thursday that to date has raised over $200,000.

Shaw was at the Waffle House in Antioch, Tennessee, on April 22 when he heard gunshots. He hid in a bathroom before ambushing alleged shooter Travis Reinking, 29, and wrestling the AR-15 from him.

Four people died during the shooting, and Shaw was injured when a bullet grazed his elbow.

“I figured if I was going to die, he was going to have to work for it,” Shaw told reporters shortly after the incident.

A GoFundMe page that was created to raise money for Shaw has earned over $200,000 and has received attention from celebrities.
