The Coolest Black Family, No. 4: Meet the Barnes
The Barnes Family Tinka Anne Wells, Jackson State University, Sophomore "Young Black Love"; Derrick and Tinka's dating days at JSU Derrick and Dr. Tinka Barnes visiting their alma mater in 2010 Ezra, 11, AKA Big Brother Almighty is the laid back Tae Kwon Do artist Solomon, 7, AKA Solo and The Heartbreaker. His Daddy foresees a great athlete in him. Silas, 5, the sharp dresser is also known as Sy Money.  We Could Be Brothers is Derrick's novel based on a conversation between two African American teens speaking on their coming of age stories.  Ruby! Ruby and the Booker Boys is Derrick's Scholastic series about a sassy and talented 8-year old girl and her brothers.
