Trayvon Martin is but one of many victims hunted for no other reason but being Black and male
10 Others Before Trayvon Martin
<p>
	Oscar Grant was fatally shot by a BART police officer in Oakland, California in the morning hours of New Year&#39;s Day in 2009. Grant was restrained and unarmed when an officer shot in the back. (2009)</p>
<p>
	Sean Bell was shot, with two other men that survived, a total of 50 times by a team of undercover NYPD officers the morning before his wedding. Officers alleged there was a gun, but no weapon was ever found. (2006)</p>
<p>
	Ousmane Zongo was accidentally shot and killed by an undercover cop while unarmed during a warehouse raid in 2003. He was an art and musical instrument repairmen who was never linked to any criminal activity. (2003)</p>
<p>
	Timothy Thomas was killed by an officer pursuing him for warrants during the Cincinnati Riots of 2001. Not aware that the warrants were traffic violations, the officer shot Thomas dead when he thought he reached for a weapon. No gun was found and the officer was acquitted. (2001)</p>
<p>
	Patrick Dorismond was fatally shot by an undercover NYPD officer who approached him about buying drugs. After a scuffle broke out, the officer fired one shot to his chest. The crime was ruled accidental. (2000)</p>
<p>
	Amadou Diallo was shot 41 times by four plain-clothed officers after believing they saw him holding a gun. No weapon was ever found. All four officers were acquitted of charges. (1999)</p>
<p>
	John Gammage was stopped by police for &quot;driving erratically&quot; on the road in his cousin&#39;s Jaguar. The coroner report showed his cause of death to be asphyxiation due to pressure applied to his chest and neck during the arrest. No officers were convicted. (1995)</p>
<p>
	Rodney King was brutally beaten by seven LAPD officers in an incident that was infamously captured on video. The acquittal of the four officers involved resulted in the 1992 Los Angeles riots. (1991)</p>
<p>
	Emmett Till was 14-years-old when he was accused of flirting with a white woman in a grocery store. Several days later, Till was kidnapped, beaten and tortured by two white men before being shot in the head and tossed into the river. Both men were acquitted, but confessed to the crime months. ( <p>
	Isaac Woodard, still in uniform from an honorable idscharge from the military, was left completely and permanently blind after a run-in with police. The sheriff involved claimed that he had struck Woodard only once in self-defense and was later found not guilty. (1946)</p>
