5 Shoe Trends to Try This Spring!

Start trending from the feet up with our selection of shoes to help you kick off this season in style

March 07, 2014

We’re all excited to shed our winter skins and try on the new trends for the season ahead. The trending forecast for spring runs the gamut from florals and pastels to prints and patterns galore. It can all be a bit overwhelming, which is why I like tackling the trends from the heels up. Shoes are the easiest, not to mention the most economical way to experiment and be on trend in any season.

With a designer selection of new heel heights and shapes to choose from, here are five shoe trends to help you step into the season with style.

Statement Sneakers

While flats continue to be on trend this season, statement sneakers join the heelless race for comfortable and fierce footwear. From stylish slip-on sneakers to bold and vibrant trainers, these are not your workout sneakers. Instead, wear these kicks with flirty skirts and summer dress and fit right in with the big sporty chic trend.

Block Heels

Platform heels go on hiatus as thick block heels carry the weight of our soles this season. You’ll still want to opt for these over stilettos. Similar to platforms, the chunky heels will provide a little more comfort for your feet.

Lace Up and Strap In

Although the ultra feminine style has been on trend for some time now, it’s showing no signs of letting loose anytime soon. The corset style was seen all over the runways and looks great with everything from jeans to slip dresses and everything in between.

The Mules

2014 is the return of the mule. What was once a nurse’s footwear of choice has taken on a whole new meaning and look this season. The backless shoe received a major makeover and is available in a bevy of sleek, sexy and edgy styles.

Printed Pumps

If you’ve been reluctant to try the print trend, there’s no better time than now to step right in. A printed pump fits in perfectly with the florals and patterns on trend for the season ahead. These patterned heels stand out without being too bold and in your face, like the slew of matching print suits you’re bound to see everywhere.
