3 Skin-Friendly Summer Fruits

Ribs and hot dogs are delicious, but they’re not helping your skin. Summer is the absolute best season to work on your flawless face, so while you’re indulging in those delicious seasonal favorites, incorporate these three amazing fruits. 

POMEGRANATE: Pomegranate is powerful, ladies. No, your martini doesn’t count. The fruit is chocked full of vitamin C and B5 and has been found to be helpful in assisting with oil production, which makes it a great extract to use on acne. Spent too much time in the sun? Drink a nice tall glass of the juice to help repair your skin. The fruit is also incredibly helpful when it comes to balancing your hormones, so stock up on it every 28 days to fight those annoying pre-menstrual side effects. 

WATERMELON: Aside from being a delicious treat – garnished with a little salt if you’re from the south – watermelon is wonderful for your face. Save one of the melons that you didn’t fill with vodka for your rooftop soiree, and use it to make a refreshing toner. Puree one cup of seedless chunks, strain the liquid, and add 2 tbsp. of organic witch hazel to create a fabulous astringent for oily skin. 

BLUEBERRIES: For those with sensitive skin suffering from severe heat rashes, look no further than blueberries. The naturally calming, antioxidant-high superfood is perfect to eat and use directly on itchy, inflamed skin. Create a cooling mask by mashing up blueberries with greek yogurt and applying directly to the affected area.
