Finding beauty products that cater to our unique needs from our skin to our hair is no easy feat. Eliminate the trial and error by selecting products by brands that have been created by us! Check out some of our favorite fellow African-Americans that own brands just for you.

Melissa Butler is the beauty and brains behind the The Lip Bar Lipstick brand. Moisturizing and long-lasting lipsticks in funky and edgy colors will be sure to make a statement on your puckers. One of our favorites from her line, the decadent Chocolate Spritzer, is a must-try!

Kim Roxie only launched her line, LAMIK Beauty (which stands for Love and Makeup in Kindness), two years ago, and it's now sold in Macy's. A cosmetic line full of eco-friendly products, ranging from her notable Celebrity Brow Kit to a variety of foundations, she's sure to be an up-and-coming driving force in the cosmetic world.

Theresa Williamson is a true favorite of ours! A veteran in the nail business, Williamson created her polish line in 2011, which is free of dangerous toxins and chemicals. Try our favorite color, Bout That Life, an electric blue great for the warm seasons to come.

Richelieu Dennis is now the CEO of the Black family-owned business, which was founded in 1912. The company provides organic hair and skin products for women of color (especially those with naturally curly tresses) and can be found in Target stores nationally. We love the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Co-Wash Conditioning Cleanser, a sweet-smelling lightweight conditioner that will leave your curls looking bouncy and reduce breakage.

Janell Stephens is the natural hair guru behind Camille Rose Naturals. Her products are so good, Target recently made room on their shelves for this up-and-coming organic line, boasting ingredients including shea butter, avocado and almond oils. Your hair will thank you later. Quench your thirsty curls with the Camille Rose Naturals Curlaide Moisture Butter.
