Now she’s sharing her tress prowess with the masses, starring on WE TV’s “L.A Hair.” And while many of our most devoted readers are tuning into Kimble’s reality show every week, they’re craving more! So we went straight to the source and inked weekly tips and how-tos from the hair guru herself! This week, Kimble talks summer hair, best wedding hairstyles, and her favorite look she’s given rap goddess Eve—who makes a special guest appearance on this week’s show!

EBONY: Summer is the perfect time for losing some length. How should we go about picking the right summer cut?

Kim Kimble: Consult with your stylist. They will be able to help you get the cut that will be best for your facial shape and features. You can also have fun with it and visit websites that allow you to upload your picture and try different looks. Or turn it into a girls day and head out to a wig store and explore to find out which cut looks great on you.

EBONY: Wedding season is in full swing, what is the most popular style for brides and bridesmaids and how can those looks be achieved?

KK: Long wavy hair like the way Beyonce wears her hair is big for this wedding season. Brides want a look that carries them from wedding to reception to the honeymoon. I suggest wearing a chignon and then letting it loose for the reception. This can usually be achieved by adding a weave or extensions for extra length. It can give off a very Bohemian-chic look

EBONY: Eve is featured on this week’s episode, what’s one of your favorite looks that you’ve given her in the past?

KK: One of my favorite looks I created for Eve was from the 2011 BET Awards. It was a front twist up and long side braid. It was cool and funky.

EBONY: Ladies are hitting a lot of summer festivals and BBQs this summer, what are some cute and easy looks for hitting up outside concerts, and lounging by the pool?

KK: In the summer you can’t fight your natural texture, you have to embrace it. Along with loose natural textures, hairstyles like a side braid or a simple braid that goes across the top of the head and ponytails can add an effortless style to any look.
