This week we caught up with Miami-based nail artist LaToya Parker, a self-employed nail artist who's blowing up IG with her funky fingerwork.

The Trend: When giving direction to create designs based on certain colors, certain images come to mind. For black, gold and white, it’s usually something Aztec-y. This is the third Aztec-related design we've seen using the three colors, and we're sure it won’t be the last!

EBONY: How did you create this design?

LaToya Parker: The way this design was created was from a collaboration of me and my client’s request. She wanted something edgy with black, white and gold. The rest really just came off the top of my head. I just let things flow.

EBONY: What do you feel is your artistic significance when it comes to nail art?

LP: I mainly try to be different and think outside the box, and even if I need to recreate something at a client’s request, I will always put my twist on it. Anything and everything inspires me. I am a true artist. It is my passion.
