This week we caught up with Kingston, Jamaica-based freelance nail artist, Marsha.

The Trend: Black and white graphic prints have been used in everything from fashion to fingertips since the beginning of time, but this passionate nail artist refreshes the trend with designs drawn by hand. That’s right. No nail stickers or stencils used here. Combined with the popular stiletto nail shape and matte black polish, get the details on the chic and sexy creation below.

EBONY: What inspired the design?

Marsha: The design was inspired by the client’s request for black and white, as well as my love for abstract art.

EBONY: How did you create this design?

Marsha: This design was done free-hand and I drew my images. I created this look by using black and white Morgan Taylor polishes, acrylic paint also in black and white, and nail art brushes.

EBONY: What do you feel is your artistic significance when it comes to nail art?

Marsha: My artistic significance is pleasing my customers beyond their expectations by using their nails as a pathway to my creative imagination as well as my level of professionalism and quality of work.
