Last night, Dior brought some favorable ladies to the deserts of Upper Virgenes Canyon in Los Angeles for their resort cruise 2018 show. Among the front row ladies, we spotted Rihanna, Solange and Kelly Rowland looking lavishly dressed in the namesake label.

Dior, a Parisian brand, took their latest collection to the “Sunshine State” reigniting a long love affair the brand has had with California. As one of the first brands to embrace and dress Hollywood stars like Marlene Dietrich and Marilyn Monroe, Creative Director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, felt it was only right to bring it back to the desert after researching Dior’s archive to find the brand’s 1951 Lascaux Collection, which reminded her of L.A.

“Dior had a huge relationship with California. People don’t know about it today. When I started to work at Dior [last year] and began researching the archives, I understood why Dior was so famous so quickly” Chiuri told The Daily Telegraph. “He was a global brand way back. Right from the start he got it.”

In the first spotting of Rihanna since her grand Met Gala Comme des Garçons look, the Bajan beauty went for a more toned down denim-to-fur ensemble, even rocking a western style hat that fitted show’s the theme.
