The chillyish November weather and this new video—by Jamaican roots reggae artist Protoje and his singer comrade, Chronixx—may spark off your last-minute winter vacay plans to the Island in the Sun. Shot along Jamaica’s lush, beach-blessed eastern coast, “Who Knows” finds Protoje boogeying his way along the craggy, crooked roads of paradise, first by car, then by motorbike.

Protoje is thankful for being rich in spirit (though not wealthy in pocket), reflecting on a life of Rasta piety, his love for community, and the air-born enjoyment of good libations. He allows us to revel in the natural beauty of his tropical home. Protoje, the Saint Elizabeth-born son of a popular 1970s reggae singer, brings his own conscious roots style to bear on this breezy, infectious tune about the simplicity of living graciously. For Protoje, tomorrow is not promised, but for today, life is a beach.—Sun Singleton
