Alaya “Lay Lay” High became the youngest rapper to be signed to a major label this past summer. On Wednesday, the Atlanta native took down the house during a stunning performance on The Ellen Degeneres Show.

Before taking the stage, High told the talk show host, “I’ve been rapping since I was five such a long time.” She went on to explain learning to freestyle from her dad, who works in the music industry. “We rap about all types of stuff. Food, pots and pans, and butterflies ― it don’t even matter. We just rap.”

High also said Cardi B, Migos, Lil Baby and Gunna are her favorite rappers but Rihanna holds the top spot as her favorite entertainer.

Lay Lay’s debut project, The Cheat Code, was released earlier this week. Watch her performance below.
