In a statement released Tuesday morning, the Minneapolis Police Department shared that they responded to reports of multiple gunshots around 10:40 pm about one block north of the Fourth Precinct.

Members of the Black Lives Matter movement were on sight and explained that the shooting happened as protestors were escorting three-masked men away from the rally premises for behaving “suspiciously.”

Protests have been taking place for the past week as a result of the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Jamar Clark, by a White police officer.

Police posted on Twitter that they are looking for three white male suspects. Investigators are still collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses.
