50 Cent called out Deputy Inspector Emmanuel Gonzalez on Sunday and said he is considering taking legal action against the NYPD.
According to a report in the New York Daily News, Gonzalez is being investigated over claims he told officers in June 2018 to shoot the rapper “on sight.”
“This guy Emanuel Gonzales is a dirty cop abusing his POWER. The sad part is this man still has a badge and a gun,” 50 Cent tweeted with a screenshot of the article. “I take this threat very seriously and im consulting with my legal counsel regarding my options moving forward.”
The BBC reported that in May 2018, the Brooklyn commander filed an aggravated harassment complaint against the Queens-born rapper. In the grievance, Gonzalez said 50 Cent threatened him on Instagram following an investigation into one of his preferred nightclubs.
The rap-mogul was not aware of the threat until the story made headlines over the weekend. He tweeted his concern to Mayor Bill de Blasio.
“Mayor de Blasio we have a system in place that doesn’t work with out good people,” 50 Cent wrote. “This piece a s---t Deputy Inspector Emanuel Gonzalez has to be dealt with. He is a embarrassment to Law Enforcement’s.”
He noted that other than Gonzalez, there are good people on the force, including “the officers that reported what he said to them.”
"Now, I'm looking at the cops different," 50 Cent said.
