Ohio protesters are calling on LeBron James to get involved in a movement formed in response to a grand jury’s verdict to not indict two white police officers who fatally shot a 12-year-old Black boy in Nov. 2014.
The Cleveland Cavaliers forward was asked about the Tamir Rice verdict on Tuesday night after a win against the Denver Nuggets.
“For me, I’ve always been a guy who’s took pride in the knowledge of every situation I’ve ever spoke on,” James said. “To be completely honest, I haven’t, I haven’t really been on top of this issue. So it’s hard for me to comment on it.”
Under the hashtag #NoJusticeNoLeBron, activists are asking James to miss games in protest of the grand jury’s decision.
