You probably know actress Carlacia Grant from her role as Cleo on the hit show Outer Banks, or through her roles on Greenleaf or the 2016 TV mini-series Roots. As a TV veteran, she stays camera-ready even when she’s not on set by taking care of her skin, body and hair to ensure that she always looks on point.
She also loves to have fun with her look, constantly changing up her hair for whatever the occasion . For festival season, she loves being a chameleon, constantly switching up her hair color, lengths and style with wigs or extensions to match her outfits and get into the day's vibe.
Recently, we sat down with Grant to discuss her go-to festival fits, and how she maintains her natural hair on-and-off the set
EBONY: What are your go-to outfits to wear to a festival?
Carlicia Grant: I love wearing something fun and flirty, but, most importantly, something that I am comfortable in. Textures, prints and colors are always fun. Flirty can be showing a little skin with a crop top or a miniskirt. And comfort is a must since I love singing and dancing to my heart’s content. But the most important comfortable item has to be the shoes. For a lot of the festivals, you have to do a lot of walking, so comfortable shoes are a must.

Do you do any fun hair or makeup looks?
With hair, I really enjoy experimenting with extensions and wigs. It allows me to switch up colors, textures, and lengths without having to damage my natural hair. I also switch up from my naturally curly hair to sleek and straight 'dos with the help of heat styling.
As an actress how do you keep your natural hair intact from different scene changes and gigs? Do you have go-to products you use to keep your hair strong and healthy?
I definitely deep condition my hair to make sure my curls are hydrated and I always use a heat protectant to make sure my hair doesn't get damaged when heat styling. Some of my favorite hair products are by Oribe and I really love the TGIN line.
