Nigerian-American actress Uzo Aduba solidified herself as a multifaceted actress during her role as Crazy Eyes in the hit Netflix series, Orange Is the New Black. Since then, she's gone on to act in several films, as well as make appearances in Broadway plays like Lynn Notage's This is My Lifeblood. But, the OITB star made her biggest debut yet—she's expecting her first child.

The 41-year-old revealed her growing baby bump on the red carpet of the 2023 Tony Awards. Rocking a bright orange Christian Siriano 3-piece set, she cupped her belly as she and husband Robert Sweeting—the creative director of of Creative Destruction, an independent film company
—made their way into the awards ceremony. Aduba took to her Instagram page that same night to officially make the announcement.

"What a blessing. My husband Robert and I are so happy to enter this next chapter together as parents," Aduba says in the caption. "I am beyond excited. I get to be someone’s Mommy! I know as the three of us continue to grow, our only, ONLY goal will be to love you, little one. My goodness. Look what God has done."

This is the first child for Aduba and her husband, who wed in 2020. The couple kept their relationship—and union—under wraps until their first wedding anniversary in 2021.
