African-American U.S. Life Expectancy Drops by 2.9 Years

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, life expectancy in the United States declined by a year and a half in 2020. For African-Americans, life expectancy declined by nearly three years – from 78.8 in 2019 to 77.3 in 2020. NPR reports that coronavirus is mostly to blame for this drastic decline.

'Space Jam' Director Criticizes Sequel

Joe Pytka, director of the original Space Jam film, does not appear to be a fan of the LeBron James-led sequel, Space Jam: A New Legacy. "The truth is that LeBron ain't Michael," Pykta told TMZ, before noting that the original film had more ties to Jordan's personal life. He also took issue with the animation work, noting that the characters "looked like one of those fluffy dolls you buy at an airport gift shop to bring your kid when your business trip has taken too long."

Dr. Ian Smith Accuses 'The Doctors' Series of Racism

Following his exit from medical daytime talk series The Doctors, Dr. Ian Smith has filed a complaint against ViacomCBS and Stage29 for unlawful termination, Page Six reports. “African-American hosts were on fewer shows than white hosts. African-American hosts were paid less than white hosts. African-American hosts were not in as many integration segments as white hosts. There were not enough African-American producers," Smith alleged in the suit. He also accused executive producer Patty Ciano of sexual harassment.

Kanye Confirms Forthcoming 'Donda' Album.

Two years after the release of his last studio album, Jesus Is King, Kayne West is slated to drop a new work titled, Donda, after his late mother. According to Pitchfork, the album will feature a track called "No Child Left Behind," which can be heard in a new Beats commercial featuring track star Sha'Carri Richardson. A listening party for the highly anticipated album is slated to take place Thursday, July 22.
