The world will never forget the sound of jazz icon Al Jarreau, who died Sunday at the age of 76. The seven-time Grammy winner established himself as a jazz legend with a career spanning nearly 50 years. He was known for his smooth voice that glided easily from baritones to tenor, scatting and be-bopping all the way.
Along with greats like Herbie Hancock, George Benson, George Duke, Nancy Wilson, Bobbi Humphrey, Patrice Rushen, Pat Metheney, and others, Jarreau formed a new vanguard for the sound of jazz through the 70s and 80s.
