Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was announced as the inaugural guest for Showtime's first late-night show, Desus & Mero, on Wednesday.

The series will be hosted by Daniel "Desus" Baker and Jose "The Kid Mero" Martinez. The comedic Bronx duo first made names for themselves on Twitter before hosting their popular podcast, The Bodega Boys. Their late-night show was previously aired dailt on Viceland but news of their departure was announced in July 2018.

Ocasio-Cortez, the youngest congresswoman in U.S. history, and the comedians are from the Bronx, New York. Since their history-making careers took off, all three joke about their borough taking over the world.

During the first episode of their Showtime series, the pair will "visit the Congresswoman's news office in D.C. determined to make her feel at home, as well as give their take on the day's hot topics in their signature style in front of a small live studio audience."

The series premieres on Feb. 21 at 11 p.m. ET/PT and will air every Thursday. Other guests that will appear on Desus & Mero will be Pusha T, Vince Staples, Ben Stiller, John Legend and Issa Rae.
