The ex-fiancé of Growing Up Hip Hop star Angela Simmons was shot and killed last weekend in Atlanta.

People reports Simmons’ ex, Sutton Tennyson, was found by police after officers responded to a call of shots fired shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday. Police did not formally identify Tennyson, but shared that “upon arrival, officers discovered a 37-year-old black male lying deceased, with multiple gunshot wounds, inside an open garage.” A spokesperson from the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office later confirmed to the publication that Tennyson was the victim.

A preliminary investigation leads authorities to believe shots were fired after a conversation with another male escalated.

Simmons shares a son, Sutton Joseph, with the late Tennyson; she took to social media to mourn the death of her child’s father.

“Thank you for leaving behind my greatest gift,” wrote Simmons, 31. “I’m hurting. I’m numb. Thank you for the out pouring [sic] of love everyone,” she continued, adding that she couldn’t “believe I’m even saying Rest in Peace Sutton. I promise to hold SJ down in every way I promise.”

The reality star also shared a clip of her son re-watching a video of him and his father together.
