One of the successful gains of this workshop was instructing the young males on how to tie a windsor knot and bow tie. In essence, this program was not only a transformative experience for myself, but it set the expectation for excellence and discipline in our young men throughout their matriculation on their journey to becoming a Bethune Man.”

“Being able to mentor and impact the lives of young men on my campus has been most rewarding experience. Along with volunteering at the local elementary schools to mentor and read to the youth. Currently I am a highs cool teacher and I feel that I have more impacted around the community by being able to reach the youth in the surrounding area. When I was young a had many women in my family instill a lot of character values in me, but not many males in my family. Growing up it impacted my life in many ways. I feel that I have an obligation to give back to the youth in any shape or form. There are so many misguide children in this world who just need someone to look up to. I feel that all the endeavors and obstacles I have faced in life makes me be that person they should look up to as a leader. Someone who actually wants to be there for them to listen to their problems and let them know they are not alone. In my opinion, these are my biggest and most valuable contributions as king of my campus that I have made. ”

“The most memorable contribution that I've had is when I coordinated and hosted a video that encouraged Congress to vote yes for the FUTURE Act. The FUTURE Act was a recent bill that called for the renewing of millions of dollars to HBCUs in their STEM fields. On short notice, Miss Rust and I gathered many students to be in the video. It was such a memorable experience because I was able to see a unified Rust student body on such short notice. I was reminded once again the reason why I love Rust College.”

I could not help but notice their lack of campus involvement and lack of knowledge relating to matriculate throughout the institution and supporting facilities.”

“As the 22nd Mister Tuskegee, I hosted the first annual King’s Welcoming ceremony for the men of #TU23 . This event consisted of a panel discussion covering many topics, such as “What is a Tuskegee Gentlemen?”, game day etiquette, the importance of academics and social life. My panel consisted of my Mister Tuskegee court Fernandez Hunter (1st Gentlemen), Kyler Wells (2nd Gentlemen), Micah Grey (the current SGA president), Timothy Foster (2018 graduate), Alijah Steele (the current Mister SGA), and Tyric Webster (2017-18 2nd Gentlemen to Tuskegee) about Tuskegee University and also a “How to tie a tie?” session for the freshman males. This event was my chance to educate the young men of the Tuskegee culture and become a mentor for these guys.”

“Although the school year hasn't been long started, I've learned that it's not the quantity of things that you do, but it's the quality of those things that matters the most. My first memorable contribution was a monetary donation to St. Jude's Children Hospital. We often say that our children are our future. That's why it's important that we invest in them, even at their lowest point. My next most memorable moment, was donation to the Hurricane Dorian victims. My heart goes out to the families who have lost loved ones due to this horrible tragedy. I was able to donate tissue, water, and money to help those families in need.”

“Other than establishing 3Kings, LLC on UDC campus, my most memorable contribution as a Campus King is me being myself. I realized that my character has some form of a contagious gravitational pull that constantly caused people to want to be around me. The transparency and positivity of my character has led to my ability to very easily foster bonds with students, staff, and other people. I have a certain "aura of positivity and comfort" people would say, because of how I am by nature. I always see the light in the darkest of situations, and always motivate and uplift staff and peers to be the best versions of themselves.”

“Recently, I was able to gather the 25% of males attending my university and create a focus group entitled The Winston Men Alliance. Within this group we are focused on building Character, Brotherhood, and Scholarship, one Winston Man at a time. I have motivated the males on campus to pursue leadership within the focus groups with committees where they are in charge of planning events and community service projects for the whole campus.”
