A few homemade signs in Hanson, Massachusetts have generated a fair share of controversy for their inflammatory anti-Obama messages. One particular sign sits on the property of Sullivans Inc., a motorcycle accessories distributor, and shows President Barack Obama with a caption that reads: “Somewhere in Kenya, a village is missing its idiot.” Underneath it the caption, “Obama One Big A– Mistake America, Vote Mitt Romney for 2012!” reads below the main headline. Portraying Obama as a Communist, the symbolic images of the hammer and sickle are on the president’s shirt collar.

Several feet away sits another sign that shows a pouting little girl seemingly giving the middle finger to President Obama. The sign reads: “Thanks, Obama” in bold red letters before continuing in child-like handwriting. “You’ve spent my lunch money, my allowance, my inheritance, 35 years of future paychecks and my retirement. You jerk.”

The Patriot-Ledger has been inundated with complaints about the controversial campaign ads, as one young father said that he has to “shield his 6-year-old daughter’s eyes” from seeing the image of a little girl flipping the bird. “How do I explain that?” he asked the Massachusetts newspaper. The sign sits several feet away from the “Village Idiot” ad, and showcases a pouting little girl seemingly giving the middle finger to President Obama. Since originally being erected, several stickers have been placed over the little girl’s middle finger as an attempt to quell the offensiveness of the image.
