The family of an Indianapolis teen who died while in police custody Saturday has hired an attorney to look into the incident.

18-year-old Terrell Day was suspected of shoplifting at a local mall. Police were called, and the teen was taken into custody without incident. Once detained, Day expressed that he was having difficulty breathing. An ambulance was called, twice, the first determining he can be transported via police vehicle. A second ambulance arrived, and was in the process of transporting the teen to the hospital.

A coroner says Day died of a heart attack in the back of the ambulance.
