The 2013 BET Awards went on yesterday without a visible hitch. Compared to previous years, it was one of the better productions. Charlie Wilson, Janelle Monae, Erykah Badu, R. Kelly and Ciara had memorable performances; comedians like Chris Tucker, Jamie Foxx and Kevin Hart gave us plenty of laughs; highly-anticipated films like “Best Man Holiday” were previewed and there was even a reggae set. There were no glaring glitches, conflicts or mishaps like years past.

This year, the drama occurred behind-the-scenes at the pre-show. B. Scott, the famous blogger behind Love B. Scott, covered fashion commentary on the red carpet beside Adrienne Bailon. Fans of Scott, who appeared on Bravo’s Chef Roble & Co. were surprised to see him pared down in a tux, a ponytail and hardly any makeup. Furthermore, there was a large, noticeable gap in programming where B. Scott was missing altogether.

Questions were answered on his Twitter page when it was revealed that B. Scott was told to change out of his heels and remove his makeup to host the pre-show.
