After the surprising cancellation of her BET series Being Mary Jane, Gabrielle Union is already on to the next one!

The talented actress is set to star in the television spin-off of popular buddy comedy/ action series Bad Boys, according to Deadline. Union will reprise her role from the 2003 sequel as DEA agent Syd Burnett, sister of Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) and one-time girlfriend of Mike Lowrey (Will Smith).

The series is currently being pitched to several networks and is reportedly receiving strong interest from many. It hails from the Bad Boys movies’ producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Doug Belgrad via his 2.0 Entertainment and Primary Wave Entertainment, and is expected to land a major commitment.

In the meantime, Union has been busy promoting her new book, We’re Going to Need More Wine. In it, she shares her most private moments with fans, including the revelation that she’s had several miscarriages in an effort to conceive with husband, NBA baller Dwyane Wade.

“I have had eight or nine miscarriages. For three years, my body has been a prisoner of trying to get pregnant—I’ve either been about to go into an IVF cycle, in the middle of an IVF cycle, or coming out of an IVF cycle.”

Still, Union, 44, and the Cleveland Cavalier are optimistic and “remain bursting with love and ready to do anything to meet the child we’ve both dreamed of.”
