New Edition and Chance The Rapper will be honored at this year’s BET Awards.

The legendary R&B group comprised of Bobby Brown, Michael Bivins, Ralph Tresvant, Ronnie DeVoe, Ricky Bell and Johnny Gill, will be awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for their extensive musical career, which garnered over 20 million records to date. This news comes as a follow-up to their The New Edition Story, a three-part miniseries, which also premiered on BET, and profiled their journey from an Orchard Park Projects boy band to one of the most successful acts to ever hit the stage.

Chance The Rapper, also known as Chance the Father, Chance The Philanthropist and so forth, will receive the evening’s Humanitarian Award for his commitment to advocacy and championing a number of poignant educational, social and political initiatives in both local and national communities.

This year’s award show will mark 17 years of incredible acts, top-tier performance’s and trailblazing moments with entertainment’s most provocative players. The 2017 BET Awards will air live on Sunday, June 25 at 8 pm ET from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA on BET.
