This weekend in Santa Monica, CA, Tina Lawson hosted her annual Wearable Art Gala. The theme for the 2019 gala was a take on "The Lion King," and celebs in attendance did not disappoint. Blue Ivy and Beyoncé were twinning in complementary lioness attire and were joined by Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

Emmy-winning actress and comedienne Tiffany Haddish served as the Gala's master of ceremonies. Television personality, best-selling author, and women’s and diversity advocate, Star Jones returned as the Gala’s celebrity auctioneer for the third year.

Following the gala, McDonald’s USA surprised WACO Theater 3rd Annual Wearable Art Gala guests with World Famous Fries®. McDonald’s partnered with the non-profit organization, as its mission of empowerment aligns with the brand’s recently launched campaign movement Black & Positively Golden. The campaign was created to uplift communities and inspire excellence through education, empowerment and entrepreneurship.

The annual Wearable Art Gala raises money for the non-profit Where Art Can Occur theater center. Founded by Beyoncé’s mom and husband Richard Lawson, the theater includes a gallery and performance space.

#aboutthisweekend Had the most amazing night on Saturday at @WacoTheater’s 3rd Annual Wearable Art Gala. When we first heard the vision that @mstinalawson and @mrrichardlawson had to bring mentorship and the arts to underserved youth and the communities of Los Angeles, we knew it would be big. But what they’ve done in 3 years has simply been incredible - the work, the impact, the lives they’re changing. So proud to be a founding sponsor of #wacotheatercenter and to have had @sheamoisture as presenting sponsor of the #wearableartgala since the beginning...and I’m humbled to have been chosen as this year’s honoree to receive the #Entrepreneur of the Year Award. 🙏🏾 Shoutout to the hilarious @tiffanyhaddish for being such a great host and to the super talented @maxwell for bringing the house down with his dope performance. #purpose #communitycommerce #entrepreneurship #sheamoisture #essencemag #newvoicesfund #newvoicesfoundation #payitforward
